I'm looking to buy many 1 gram bars, 2.5 grams and only a few 1 troy ounce bars. (Fortuna ones)

I'm not looking to make a profit, just the fact of holding gold. Possibly to pass it down when I'm gone.

Gold is the only real form of money. Everything else will eventually go down to zero. Go for it.

no, Bob.

the owner of bullion has to pay for the assay required when it is sold.
Further, 1570/troy ounce is well above the world price of gold [1380 or so Friday].

you'll make just as much money with lower costs and easier selling out by buying the "GLD" exchange traded fund at your stockbroker. Free SIPC protection, too.

that was way too much. Gold has been going up steady for a while now it could be a long time before it hits these levels again. I do hope I'm wrong but in the long run 30+ years it should be worth more than you paid.

Any bullion bars from Pamp Suisse are solid investments and legit. I usually trade pamp suisse 1 oz. palladium bars. But, I've been thinking of using pamp suisse bars because they tend to have a low premium over the spot price. Plus they are packaged nicely to protect them with weight and serial number. I appreciate that.
